A South Yorkshire pensioner showed she’s all heart by donating cash to buy a defibrillator for her local school.

Mary-Agnes Rotherham, aged 91, donated funds to Saint Pius X RC High School in Wath-on-Dearne for the purchase of the life-saving machine.

Mrs Rotherham was invited into school to hand it over officially to headteacher Anthony Bishop.

Twelve members of staff have now been trained how to use the defibrillator, which has been placed in reception.

Mr Bishop said: “Mrs Rotherham is a lovely lady who has a big heart.”
