A SCHOOL French day proved to be magnifique as pupils enjoyed a host of European entertainment.

Whether it was competing in their own version of the cycle race the Tour de France, or making the Eiffel Tower from scratch out of newspaper - Scawthorpe’s Sunnyfields Primary School had it covered.

The day also saw its pupils dress up in stereotypical French attire with brilliant berets and stripey shirts.

Throughout the day they had the chance to sample some tasty treats with French cooking on offer and sing a selection of French songs.

It never seems a dull place at the primary school in Rose Crescent with plenty of activities coming up including a teddy bears’ picnic, a bike ride to Cusworth Hall and a summer fair before the youngsters’ end of term productions.
