Sixth-form students have been quizzing Doncaster North MP and Labour leader, Ed Miliband.

The Question Time-style event, at Outwood Academy Adwick, Windmill Balk Lane, Woodlands, saw students ask Mr Miliband a variety of questions.

He was asked about his plans for the NHS and education, among other things.

Mr Miliband, who has pledged to give 16 and 17 year olds the vote, said: “I was really impressed with the students. They were well-informed and asked excellent questions.”

The visit was arranged by councillor John Mounsey.

Coun Mounsey, who is chair of governors at the school, said: “The students were delighted to be able to put their questions to Mr Miliband. I’m sure it will have left them feeling more involved in politics.”
