Underprivileged children in India are learning new IT skills thanks to a donation of laptops by Doncaster Council.
The authority has given some of its older computers to the Doncaster-based Wheel of Hope charity and they have gone to the Happy Home children’s centre at Vizhinjam in southern India.
The laptops are being used to teach some of the older students the basics of using a computer.
David Calvert Orange, from Wheel of Hope, said: “We are very grateful for the support from Doncaster Council. Our students have been busy on the lap tops and they have made excellent progress learning valuable IT skills that will help prepare them for employment.”
