DEARNE MP John Healey brought some festive cheer to a local primary school when he dropped by to thank pupils for entering a competition to design his official Christmas card.
Every year his card, which is sent to around 1,000 people, including the Prime Minister, is designed by local school children.
This Christmas was the turn of Wath Central Primary School.
Mr Healey visited on Friday to present gifts to the winner, Eve Barker, 10.
She received a framed version of her design, which featured a festive scene with Father Christmas.
Mr Healey said: “As always, the standard of entries from the children was high and choosing a winner was very difficult. I want to thank them all for taking part.”
There were also 12 runners-up presented with gifts.
The runners-up were: Thomas Charlesworth, five, Maisey Williamson, seven, Mollie Garside, 10, Sadie Wilson, eight, Corey Stalker, five, Gracie Williams, six, William Broad, nine, Megan Louise Chandler, nine, Aman Sanghera, eight, Billy Nicholls, five, Antoni Cusworth, five, and Courtney Lloyd, eight.
Headteacher Lisa Andrews said: “I was really impressed with their designs.”
