Train operator, East Coast, has announced it will be running its published timetable today but has relaxed all ticket restrictions to help its customers get home for Christmas.
The train operator ran an amended timetable yesterday due to severe weather conditions and speed restrictions imposed by infrastructure partner Network Rail as a precautionary measure.
All ticket restrictions were lifted for two days yesterday morning, and customers with tickets booked to travel yesterday or today can take any East Coast train service today.
As pre-booked seat reservations are in place for travel today, customers who deferred their travel from yesterday will need to occupy an unreserved seat today.
Additional staff have been drafted in to help passengers at East Coast stations.
The final planned East Coast services from London King’s Cross today are: 1800 (for Edinburgh); 1930 (for destinations between York and Newcastle, inclusive); 2005 for Leeds.
Customers are advised to check before setting out on journeys, with information updated on East Coast’s website at www.eastcoast.co.uk, on East Coast’s Twitter feed @eastcoastuk or by telephoning National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50.
