A GENERAL foreman from a Doncaster construction firm raised £1000 in memory of his late mum.
Duncan Bottomley, aged 38, who works for Frank Haslam Milan, took part in the two day Nokia Coast to Coast Adventure Race - a triathlon of running, cycling and kayaking.
Duncan lost his mum Hazel at the age of 61 to leukaemia and took part in the challenge on the seventh anniversary of her death.
Colleague Andrew Busfield, aged 30, a trainee general foreman and two of Duncan’s school pals Shane Belk, aged 37, and Russell Fields, aged 39, also joined the team.
The team raised over £1,000 for Sheffield’s Weston Park Hospital - one of only three dedicated cancer hospitals in the country.
Duncan said: “I know mum would have been incredibly proud of us all. She loved sports and athletics, so taking part in a triathlon on the anniversary of her death was a fitting tribute.”
