A brave woman has raised over £4,000 for charity by having her head shaved.

Neece Francess-Allen had the extreme hair cut on Saturday, (February 7), at Ziniz restaurant, Bawtry to raise money for the Aurora cancer charity.

Neece, who volunteers one day a week at the Aurora Care to Give shop in Scot Lane, dedicated the head shave to close friend Ann Holden who is approaching her last chemotherapy session for breast cancer.

She said: “It was absolutely great fun. It wasn’t what I expected, but it was a hoot.

“It exceeded my expectations. So many people came and the atmosphere was lovely.

“The hairdresser was lovely too and everyone really got in to the spirit of it.

“There’s even more money to come, people have been wonderfully generous.

“I have got a lot of wigs to choose from so that makes it better, but my husband, Geoff Francess-Allen, doesn’t want me to wear them. He loves me without them, he’s been very supportive.”
