Sofa giant CSL is relaunching as Sofaworks today.

The new Doncaster Sofaworks store will officially open this morning, with a launch featuring family activities and a chance to win a £5,000 holiday.

Sofaworks is being supported by a new website and a soon-to-be-launched app providing customers will a full multi-channel service.

For the first time, Sofaworks has also developed its own line of sofas and it is stocking exclusive product ranges.

Mark Townsley, manager of Sofaworks’ Doncaster store, said: “This is not just a name change. Customers will really notice the difference when they walk into the new Doncaster Sofaworks store, including our exclusive ranges and the relaxed atmosphere. People can be assured that unlike elsewhere, they will not be pressured.

“We are open on Boxing Day, when there will be some fun family activities and the chance to win a holiday, so we’d like to invite everyone to join in the celebration. We are confident that our customers will be impressed with the new Sofaworks customer experience.”

The new Sofaworks stores are being launched as the retailer prepares to unveil record results, with turnover up 17% over the course of the year. Sales for the year to December 31 are on target to top £100million for the first time (£2012: £89.2million).

Two new stores, in Coventry and Stockon-on-Tees, opened this week, with another nine new stores due to open during 2014.

Jason Tyldesley, chief executive of Sofaworks, said: “We have always taken pride in treating customers with respect and being open and honest – these are the values that have been with the business from the start. However, as Sofaworks, we’re taking that proposition a step further, creating a truly unique and market-beating customer offer.”

Sofaworks was established by the Tyldesley family in 1984 as a single store near Burnley, Lancashire. It remains wholly owned by the family and employs more than 700 people.
