Doncaster sizzles as temperatures top Athens and Rome

Doncaster is enjoying a mini-heatwave today as temperatures climb higher than Athens and Rome and the rest of South Yorkshire.

Doncaster has truly sizzled, with a recorded temperature of 15.1 degrees Celsius this afternoon.

That is higher than Athens in Greece, which managed 12.8 degrees at the same time, and the positively arctic 11 degrees in Rome, Italy.

The rest of South Yorkshire has also enjoyed the sun, with temperatures of 13 degrees in Rotherham and 12.7 degrees in Barnsley.
