Kind school nurses in Doncaster have collected around 40 gifts to bring some Christmas cheer to those less fortunate.

The school nurses and health visitors, who all work for Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH), donated the presents which will be handed over in time for Christmas, to the borough’s refuge which helps women and their children who are fleeing from domestic violence.

Lynne Schuller, one of RDaSH’s Specialist Community Public Health Nurses, said: “I heard that the women’s refuge was wanting to give every child in the refuge over the Christmas period a gift, so I asked my work colleagues if they could donate items and I’ve had a fantastic response.

“I hope this brings a little bit of Christmas magic to the young people who find themselves in the women’s refuge this festive season.”
