A mum campaigning for a school crossing patrol warden outside her son’s school was left stunned when she was apparently told to find her own.

Tracy McFarlane, whose son Louis, 11, attends Our Lady of Mount Carmel Primary School in Intake, raised concerns after the regular lollipop man was absent on several occasions due to illness.

She said: “Sometimes, the warden isn’t always there which means Louis and all the other children from schools are having to cross a busy road with no-one to help them across safely.
