Would be robber targets woman leaving bingo
A WOMAN fought off a would-be robber who targeted her as she made her way home from the bingo.
The 56-year-old woman had just left Gala Bingo in Wheatley Hall Road when a man approached from behind as she made her way along a footpath linking Guildford Road and Thorne Road.
The raider grabbed hold of the strap of her handbag. The victim managed to keep hold of her back but fell to the ground in the struggle.
He then met up with another man and continued to walk onto Guildford Road heading towards Doncaster town centre.
The suspect is white, in his late teens to early 20s, 5ft 8ins tall and slim. He was wearing a white hooded top.
The other man was similar in appearance but was wearing a dark hooded top.
Police only released details about the incident which happened at about 9.45pm on Thursday November 12 this week.
