Update 5.30pm: Paramedics called in after Thorne Road crash

AMBULANCE crews were called after two cars were in collision on one of Doncaster’s busiest roads.

Paramedics attended at the scene on Thorne Road this afternoon after the two vehicles collided near the top of Town Moor Avenue.

Both the silver-coloured cars were heading towards Doncaster at the time of the incident at around 1pm.

One driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries the other was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary also suffering from minor injuries following the accident which took place outside The Laurels nursing home.

A South Yorkshire Ambulance spokesman confirmed that two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle had been despatched to the scene.
