A WOMAN was seriously injured following a two car smash in a Doncaster town.

The incident happened when a black Nissan Navara pickup was travelling along Moss Road towards Askern when the vehicle is said to have crossed on to the opposite carriageway before colliding head-on with a red Peugeot 107.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 66-year-old local woman, sustained serious injuries to her hip, leg and chest. The pickup driver, a 50-year-old local man, suffered slight concussion.

Both drivers were trapped for a ‘considerable time’, said a South Yorkshire Police spokesman.

Police want to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or the manner of the driving of either vehicle prior to the crash which happened on November 30 just before 8.50am.

Call police on 101 and quote incident number 190 of the November 30.
