POLICE bosses have appointed two new bobbies for the beat in Epworth.

Sgt Antony Petty has taken over the reins from Sgt Michelle Garlick , who is working on a project in the Scunthorpe Division.

PC Dean Southam is taking over from PC Graham Godley , who is retiring.

The two new recruits will be based at Epworth police station and will have a key role in helping to fight crime in the town.

Sgt Petty will be supervision the station’s neighbourhood police team.

He said: “I am very happy to have been given the opportunity of supervising the neighbourhood team at Epworth.

“I have inherited a good team who are hard working, care about the community and deliver an excellent service. I am looking forward to developing relationships with our partner agencies and working together to improve the community and quality of life for the residents. “We are very happy to have Dean on board. I am sure he will give a great service to the community.”

PC Southam said: “I think it is a great appointment. I am looking forward to visiting schools and the neighbourhood to introduce ourselves to the community.”
