A TEENAGER from the Dearne is hoping to put his name up alongside the likes of Hulk Hogan and The Undertaker.

Adan Osborne, 17, aka ‘The Model’ is a wrestler from, Newfield Crescent, Swinton, who will be competing in the area for the first time in a All American Wrestling show at the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday.

South Yorkshire lad Adan only made his debut in UWE Megaslam American Wrestling matches last year and says he is looking forward to competing in front of a home crowd for the first time.

He said: “Wrestling has always been a dream of mine, and having my first match in Doncaster makes it feel real.”

“I got my nickname ‘The Model’ because I’m a pretty good-looking guy, and coming out with a mirror, making the crowd think you’re vein really riles them up which I enjoy. I’d rather be hated and make them root for my opponent, then be the boring good guy!”

Adan explained he got into wrestling after seeing a UWE match in Rotherham last year where the organisers announced they were looking for new wrestlers, and then started training at a centre in Mexborough.

“I was only training for two weeks before one of the organisers told me one of the other wrestlers had an injury and they wanted me to take his place and compete in my first match. Since then I’ve been in matches all over the country from Bridlington to Manchester, and I haven’t looked back,” said Adan.

This is the first time UWE Megaslam American Wrestling has come to Doncaster, and Saturday’s event will feature wrestlers from all over the world including ‘The Predator’ Paul Malen, UWE Megaslam Wrestling Champion Mick Romeo, R.I.P and The Legend of Doom.

Gavin Baldwin, of the Keepmoat Stadium, said: “We are pleased to be bringing American wrestling to the Keepmoat Stadium.

“It is an increasingly popular sport with a large local fan base and it promises to be a fun night out which all the family can enjoy.”

Doors open at 7pm and tickets are £8 for children, and £10 for adults.
