Student's sponsorship bid for Raleigh trip
A STUDENT at John Leggot College is seeking £2995 in sponsorship to help people in Namibia.
Rebecka Bridge-Dunk, of Snaith, is planning to visit the country for three months from March 2006 on her gap year for Raleigh International to help build community and environmental projects.
The 17-year-old told the Courier: "I will be doing three projects relating to the environment, conservation and community, but don't know what till we get out there, it depends what the country needs at the time.
"I am getting excited about going, it should be really good and hot which will make it hard work but I am looking forward to the challenge."
Projects could include building fences to help protect the endangered black and white rhino, counting game for a much-needed wildlife survey, creating sports pitches, teaching games and helping doctors and nurses restore the sight of blind people.
