SLIDESHOW: First-ever fair is a huge boost to town

Waiting for Video...

FOODIES had a field day in Epworth when everything from gourmet fishcakes to hand-made chocolates were displayed to eager shoppers.

The town’s first festive food fair proved a great hit attracting hordes of people to the town, in turn helping to boost tourism and the local economy.

Visitors to the Market Place were treated to an array of stalls with produce on offer including rare-breed meats, home-baked pies and cakes, cheeses and sweets, to name but a few.

Stallholders were also on hand to give information or advice on how to cook their wares for the very best results.

Street entertainer Nutty Norman was there to keep all the young children happy with his balloon animals and magic tricks, and there were festive treats to sample, for those who didn’t have time to stop by one of Epworth’s quaint tearooms or cafes that are dotted about the town.

Free parking was supplied to make the day hassle-free and even more enjoyable for visitors.

The event was organised mainly by Margaret Price of North Lincolnshire Council, who said that it had been a great success, and very well supported.
