Road now open following collision

A BUSY road has now opened after being closed for several hours because of an accident involving two vehicles.

The A635 Doncaster Road in Hickleton was shut off to motorists which led to slow traffic in both directions between the B6411 Lidget Lane junction and the Red Hill Lane junction following the accident which happened around 6am.

A police spokesman said the accident involved a silver Rover and silver Volkswagen Polo this morning.

The Polo was blocking the road and was recovered at 7am.

No injuries were reported.
