Relatives' three peaks challenge
THE grandchildren of a man who died after waiting to be given a potentially live-saving cancer drug have raised hundreds of pounds in his memory.
Ivan Lumb, 68, of Belle Vue died from kidney cancer in 2007, just a year after being diagnosed with the disease.
After a long running fight, Mr Lumb was granted Sutent by Doncaster Primary Care Trust just three weeks before his death.
His grandsons Mark and Adam Gill aged, 24 and 19, decided to raise money and awareness of kidney cancer by walking the 25-mile Yorkshire three peaks, which takes in the summits of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough .
They raised 350 for the James Whale Kidney Cancer Fund after completing the walk in less than 12 hours.
