Police sniff out cannabis factory

A DRUGS factory was raided after a passing police patrol smelt cannabis coming from a garage in Doncaster town centre.

Officers launched an investigation after becoming suspicious of the smell coming from the lock up garage at the rear of Chequer Road.

A 36-year-old man was arrested nearby and police then searched the garage finding 70 cannabis plants worth 21,000.

A further 25 plants were found when police searched a garage at the man's house in Wheatley Hills.

The discoveries were made on Wednesday afternoon.

The man was released on bail pending further inquiries.
