Police appeal after road accident

Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was knocked off his bike and seriously injured in Wath.

The incident happened on Saturday, September 8, at about 11.35am when a group of cyclists were travelling down Battison Lane into Green Lane.

Police said one of the cyclists is believed to have ridden through some gravel, causing him to travel onto the opposite side of the road, and collide with a blue Nissan van.

The cyclist, a 49-year-old Doncaster man, sustained serious chest and leg injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 584 of the 8 September 2012.
