Plans for new learning units
DONCASTER Council is planning to create four new learning centres for pupils with challenging behaviour.
A report on the plans that would support pupils aged 11-14 with emotional and behavioural difficulties was discussed at the cabinet yesterday.
At Key Stage 3, the cabinet agreed to close the main pupil referral unit, the Nexus Centre in Balby, and develop a comprehensive ‘outreach service’ from four locally-based centres.
Refurbishment of accommodation at Shakers in Askern, the Keepmoat Stadium, Rossington All Saints Academy and Balby Carr School is now being proposed to enable the setting up of learning centres.
