Music festival fundraiser
AN ANNUAL music festival will take place again this year to raise funds to restore a valuable church organ.
Most of the original bellows of the Father Willis organ in Wentworth Parish Church have been replaced, but work now needs to be done to the pedal board and couplers.
The festival starts on September 26, with a concert by Thurnscoe Harmonic Male Voice Choir. Anne Applin and Geoffrey Pratley will perform a piano duet concert and on September 28 The Emperor String Quartet will be appearing. On September 29 Jonathan Bielby will give an organ recital and the Dore Gilbert and Sullivan Society Singers will perform. A concert by the Arioso Baroque Ensemble ends the festival on October 13.
