Mayoress set to be laid to rest

THE funeral of a two-time former mayoress and wife of one of Doncaster Council’s best-known leaders will take place tomorrow.

Lena Gallimore, who was married to former mayor and council leader Gordon, died last month. The funeral will be held at Rose Hill Crematorium from 2.40pm tomorrow.

Mrs Gallimore, who was born and lived her entire life in Bentley, first held the title of mayoress in 1976.

She returned to the Mansion House for a second term in 1994.
