Man escapes from flat fire

A MAN was taken to hospital following a fire at his flat in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The man, in his twenties, suffered the effects of smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The blaze, at around 1am at Coniston Road, Mexborough, is thought to have been accidental.

Fire crews from Dearne and Edlington stations attended.
