MORE than 30 firefighters tackling a large blaze at a Doncaster scrapyard are expecting to be there until this afternoon.

The flames have engulfed around 70 cars at the Doncaster Motor Spares premises on Doncaster Road, Conisbrough, near the water tower.

It was reported around 4am and crews from Edlington, Maltby, Dearne and Rotherham stations have been sent to tackle it.

The fire has also caused traffic disruption on the A630 between Conisbrough and Warmsworth.

Fire officers exnpect to be at the site at least until mid-afternoon as they remove each burning car from the stacking system and extinguish it.

It is believed to be the second large fire at the same premises within the last two years.
