Lorry incident leads to motorway closure

AN overturned lorry has led to a part of the M18 being closed near Doncaster this afternoon.

The incident also caused both southbound carriageways to be blocked.

The southbound stretch was closed between junctions four and five, near Armthorpe, with the vehicle reported to have ended up on its side after striking the central reservation.

Firefighters and police were called to the scene at 3.18pm, with the firefighters making the vehicle safe.

No one was seriously injured.
