Litter louts to be prosecuted
Court case
litter louts are being targeted as part of a new council crackdown.
Fines and charges totalling thousands of pounds were handed out to 20 more offenders following the latest prosecutions by Doncaster Council.
Offenders were given an average fine of £200.
Peter Dale, the council’s director of environment said people who dump litter in the town will be prosecuted.
He added: “Doncaster Council does not get to keep any of the fines handed out by magistrates, these go to the court.
“It is important that those who seek to blight the borough with litter are held to account.
“We are promoting the ‘Love Where You Live’ campaign in Doncaster and want everyone to take personal responsibility for the local environment.”
