Hometown gig for No 1 fan
Doyle and the Fourfathers are playing at The Leopard in Doncaster on February 23.
A DONCASTER music fan who has travelled the country to see an unsigned indie band more than 70 times is finally going to see them play in his hometown.
Martin Clark, of Harrington Street, instantly took a shine to Doyle and the Fourfathers when he first heard them on BBC Radio 6 and hasn’t missed them perform since.
He first saw them in Southampton in May 2010 and has since become one of their most dedicated fans, clocking up hundreds of miles to get to their gigs.
Now a familiar face to the band and their followers, Martin will even be putting them up in his home when they come to The Leopard next Thursday.
The 52-year-old said: “I started getting to know the band and going to see them has become a bit of a habit! It’s refreshing to see a young band who are drawing from all kinds of musical influences but are still performing in a really fresh way.”

Doors will open at the West Street pub at 8pm. Entrance is £3.
