Help make your home smoke free
RESIDENTS in Mexborough, Conisbrough and Denaby are being urged to protect their family and friends from secondhand smoke by signing up to make their home smokefree.
Doncaster Smokefree – a mutli-agency partnership – has launched a campaign encouraging all householders to stop smoking in their properties by the start of the London Olympics on July 27.
The campaign is raising awareness of the health dangers and encouraging people to take action to protect others from secondhand smoke. Leaflets and posters are being distributed across Doncaster encouraging people to join many others across the borough in becoming smokefree at home.
Dr Rupert Suckling, deputy director of public health for Doncaster, said: “The only way to completely protect people from secondhand smoke in your house is to make it entirely smokefree. Secondhand smoke can cause serious health problems for children and adults.“
