HAXEY Cricket Club have been rewarded with a £5,000 grant to improve their sporting facilities.
The club was one of 14 organisations to receive part of a £30,000 funding pot from North Lincolnshire Homes (NLH).
They were chosen after a Dragons’s Den style event at The House Conference Centre in Scunthorpe, in which group representatives had to present their projects to an independent tenant panel.
Club chairman Don Lange, 70, said: “We are very happy to receive this grant.
“It will be used to buy new sight screens at the ground.”
Chris Baker, Community Investment Coordinator for NLH, said: “There is so much brilliant work being done across North Lincolnshire and this was highlighted at the event.
“A big congratulations to all of the groups that were funded.
“Commiserations to those who did not receive a share this time round.”
