Firefighters show pedal power

FOUR firefighters needed a hose down after completing an epic 400 mile charity cycle ride in under 30 hours.

Doncaster station firefighters Tony Crossfield and Rob Halliwell and their crew manager colleague Dan Nortcliffe were joined by Adwick station firefighter Alex Marland for the trip from Buckingham Palace to Edinburgh Castle.

Despite battling against rain and driving winds for most of their gruelling journey, the group defied the conditions to complete the trek in an impressive 25 hours.

The saddle stars are nearing a fundraising total of 4,500 having surpassed their target of 4,000.

All of the proceeds will be given to the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity in Sheffield.

The awesome foursome are still collecting donations. People can help their cause by visiting www.justgiving.com/saddlesore2010
