FIREFIGHTERS saved 250 bales of hay from being destroyed in a fire.

Arsonists torched a pile of about 60 hay bales on land off Nutwell Lane in Cantley at about 8.30pm last night.

Two crews from Doncaster managed to separate the bales to prevent further bales from burning and remained on the scene until 11.20pm.
