Fashion students show off their masterpieces in London

FASHION graduates from Doncaster College are taking part in a prestigious London exhibition next month.

The students will be displaying some of their finest creations at Graduate Fashion Week at Earls Court.

The event showcases work from the top universities and colleges across the country and provides graduates with the perfect chance to exhibit their work for prospective employers to see.

Previous exhibitors who have been head-hunted at the event include Stella McCartney, Julien Macdonald, Antonio Beradi, Hussein Chalayan and Owen Gaster.

All of the latest fashion graduates from the college will be displaying work but hoping to follow in these famous footsteps will be college BA (Hons) Fashion graduates Victoria Fenning, Rebecca Mennie and Laura Haywood. Victoria specialises in beautiful and unusual tailoring and her final collection is inspired by fairy-tales. Rebecca's collection is inspired by the eclectic tastes of the Harajuku girls and includes embroidery, print and knit combined with traditional pattern cutting techniques. Laura's collection is based on the 70s disco look and inspired by Studio 54.

Course leader Debbie Pulleyblank said: "To be part of something as big as Graduate Fashion Week will be amazing for the girls. They have worked so hard on their collections and they have produced some remarkable items. It should be a great week for them."

Doncaster College runs a number of fashion-based courses. Further details are available by calling 0800 358 7575 or visiting www.don.ac.uk
