A DEVILISHLY good group of charitable folk have helped Olympian Sarah Stevenson MBE raise over £2,000 in honour of her mum.
The 29-year-old led the group of fantastic fundraisers to walk from her family home in Ayton Walk, Bentley, all the way to St John’s Hospice in Balby - the site her mum Diana was cared for before losing her brave battle with cancer last year.
Wearing devil outfits in the spirit of Halloween, Doncaster’s four-time Olympian and 2008 Beijing Games bronze medallist Sarah took to her Twitter page to thank everyone for their generosity which saw over £2,000 raised for the hospice following Saturday’s five-mile trek.
Sarah, whose dad Roy also tragically died last year just months before Diane, told her 8,600 Twitter followers: “Well done @DonnyOwlClaire @Donnyowlrach @DonnyScouse and all my girls. Mum would be proud of us all. Raised over £2000 for St Johns Hospice.”
