Early morning blaze

FIREFIGHTERS were alerted to an early morning blaze outside a home at Eastwood, Rotherham, early this morning.

Crews from Rotherham and Darnall stations attended the blaze at 2.26am at Hardwicke Road, where a mattress had been set alight.

The fire was thought to be deliberate, but posed no danger to nearby properties, said a fire spokesman.

The incident was reported by a passer-by.
