Driver fights for life following A1(M) crash
AN elderly man was in a life threatening condition following a traffic collision in Doncaster.
The 87-year-old Doncaster man was travelling on the northbound A1M approaching Skellow service station when the burgundy Hyundai Accent collided with the rear of a blue Renault Laguna when the traffic suddenly slowed.
The man, who has not been named, was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary with broken legs and chest pains. Police said the man was in a life-threatening condition.
A 68-year-old woman from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, who was a rear seat passenger in the Laguna was taken to DRI with chest pains and later discharged.
The collision happened around 50 metres from the junction with Leys Lane at around 12.45pm on March 4.
