Doncaster village hit by power cut

HUNDREDS of homes in a Doncaster village were plunged into darkness last night after a power cut hit their electricity supply.

Properties on estates along Thorne Road and Kirton Lane, in Stainforth, were affected by the black-out from around 9.40pm to 10.20pm, say residents.

Resident Mavis Fletcher said even the street lights were off.

She said: “It must have affected houses for a mile.”
