DONCASTER pop sensation Louis Tomlinson is continuing his bid for global domination - after it was revealed he will be immortalised as a waxwork.

World famous waxworks Madame Tussauds has announced that Louis and his One Direction bandmates Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles are to be created as wax figures later this year.

And the announcement came just hours after it was revealed that the all-conquering boy band are to have their own shop which will open in Leeds in a few weeks time.

The boys have already had their sittings for the figures which will go on a world tour taking in London, New York and Sydney after the five piece topped the list of the personalities visitors most wanted to see turned into wax models over the past year.

Bessacarr boy Louis said: “I think it’s going to be quite weird to see yourself as a wax figure.

“But it’s an amazing honour to be there. If you look at some of the names that are in there, we are very proud.”

The figures will be on show in London from April 18 to July 11, New York from July 19 to October 11 and Sydney from October 24 to January 28.

A spokesman for Tussauds said: “We have been overwhelmed by requests for us to feature One Direction. The boys have been top of the most wanted personalities list for the last 12 months, so we are delighted we can now bring their figures to each of these cities in a special world tour.

“The five have been involved throughout the sculpting process and our studios team have had great fun working with them, taking hundreds of precise measurements and discussing the style their figures will be portrayed in.”

Meanwhile, One Direction fans are set to be in their element with the opening of the group’s very own shop- on Louis’s Yorkshire home turf.

The ‘pop-up’ 1D World store opens in Leeds’ Trinity Shopping Centre on March 23 for three weeks only and during this time fans can expect exclusive competitions, offers and stock ranging from t-shirts to posters, phone cases, caps, calendars and life-size cardboard stand-ups.
