FOOTBALL supporters will unite this weekend for former Doncaster Rovers striker Billy Sharp.
Fans of the player’s current and former clubs are planning a minute’s applause to mark the first anniversary of the death of his son Luey Jacob.
Doncaster supporters are being urged to show their backing at Notts County in the tenth minute of the club’s away fixture, recognising the number ten shirt Billy wore during his time at the Keepmoat.
Fans at current club Nottingham Forest and followers of Sheffield United, Scunthorpe and Southampton are also taking part. Sharp dedicated a goal he scored two days after the tragedy with a T-shirt proclaiming, ‘That’s for you son’.
