Doncaster MP in landslip talks
Doncaster North MP Ed Miliband this afternoon met with community leaders in Stainforth concerned about the spoilheap landslip from Hatfield Colliery.
The MP also had discussions with Gordon Banham, the chief executive of Hargreaves Services, who run the pit.
After the meeting he said: “They have assured me the Health and safety Executive are fully involved in ensuring this is dealt with in a safe way. I emphasised to them the importance of this happening.
“The next priority is to ensure that the landslip is carefully cleared so that services can resume on the railway line.
“This is obviously a complex operation and must be done with care. I will be keeping closely in touch with any developments.”
