Dog and man in 50s rescued from kitchen blaze

A MAN and a dog had to be evacuated from a house fire last night.

The blaze began in the kitchen after it was started by an electrical socket at a home in Stanley Road, Sunnyfields.

A woman inside managed to get out by herself, as firefighters from Adwick and Doncaster rescued the man and dog.

The couple, believed to be in their 50s, and the dog escaped unhurt following the accidental kitchen blaze which happened at around 11pm, a spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said.
