Crime team aim to tackle shoplifters

A SPECIALIST team to combat shoplifting in the borough has been launched.

The Retail Crime Team in Doncaster will work with borough-based partners in a bid to offer crime prevention advice and target prolific shoplifting offenders.

The team will be based at College Road in Doncaster, focussing on the town centre and shopping centre areas.

The team consists of five police constables led by Sergeant Stuart Rowse.

He said: “This dedicated team are working closely with local businesses to prevent and reduce crime and anti social behaviour in retail premises across Doncaster. The additional resources aim to reassure shoppers and retailers that we are committed to making Doncaster a safe and pleasant place to visit.”
