Bentley: A fraudster was not let off the hook after lying about losing a mobile phone, only to go on and sell it. Mark Robert Lee Davison, 36, of Cherry Garth admitted lodging a dishonest claim with the insurance company on January 2 saying he had lost his phone in a river, and then sold the phone and tried to claim £290 from the insurance company. Davison was ordered to pay £290 in compensation and made the subject of a community order that includes completing 80 hours of unpaid work.
Thorne: Driving without insurance landed a Doncaster driver with a £615 court bill. Natalie Bathgate, 33, of Cedar Road was ordered to stump up the cash after being found guilty of driving along East Laith Gate without insurance on June 22. Bathgate was also given six penalty points.
Denaby MAIN: It was game over for a thief who was made the subject of a community order after stealing an X Box. Vince Lion Ellis, 20, of Woodlands Way admitted taking the games console on October 27. As part of his punishment Ellis was ordered to carry out 40 hours unpaid work and pay £100 in compensation.
