n West MELTON: Granville George Hewitt, 37, of Tennyson Rise, pleaded guilty to stealing electrical tools worth £251.94 belonging to Clas Ohlson, Doncaster, on September 29. Hewitt was ordered to observe a curfew and to be electronically monitored for one month. He was ordered to pay compensation of £289.83 to the store in Frenchgate.
n Mexborough: Jonathan Paul Brown, 37, of Cedar Avenue, Mexborough, admitted beating Clare Oakley at Doncaster on August 25. He was ordered to comply with a community order with a supervision requirement for 12 months. He was also given a restraining order not to have contact with Ms Oakley, of Mexborough, for 12 months and to pay her compensation of £100. Brown was also ordered to pay costs of £50.
n Rawmarsh: Craig Stephen Whitehead, 29, of Dawson Avenue, Rawmarsh pleaded guilty to stealing meat valued at £15 from Co-op Stores Mexborough on June 24. He also admitted stealing £10 of gammon from the Coop on June 22 and gammon to the value of £12 from McColls, Hirstgate, Mexborough, on June 23. Whitehead also admitted stealing cosmetics worth £64.50 at Tesco, Rotherham on July 18. The court heard Whitehead had committed the offences whilst subject to a conditional discharge for 12 months imposed in May 2011 for two theft offences. Whitehead was ordered to serve a community order with supervision for six months. He was ordered to pay compensation of £12 to McColls and £10 to Coop Mexborough.
n Thurnscoe: Nathan James Kilner, of Church Street, Thurnscoe, admitted assaulting his mother, Joanne Kilner at Whinside Crescent, Thurnscoe, on Saturday, August 4. Kilner was given a supervision order for 12 months and ordered to carry out unpaid work for 150 hours within the next 12 months. He was ordered to pay £150 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service. No compensation was ordered.
n Brierley: David Miller, of Park View, pleaded guilty to stealing two portable hard drives valued at £94 from Asda at Old Mill Lane, Barnsley, on September 13. The court heard that Miller also had been unlawfully carrying a craft knife at the store on September 13. He was ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
n Wath: Darren Mark Tingle, 36, of Sycamore Crescent, was jailed for 12 weeks after pleading guilty to stealing chocolates worth £77.89 from the Coop store at Hoyland on September 3, razors and deodorant valued at £80 from the Coop store at Bolton on September 2, and £60.50 of steak from the Coop store at Bolton on September 3.
