Cops tackle anti-social behaviour

Police and Barnsley Council, together with partners, joined forces for a day of action to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in Hoyland and Wombwell.

Police officers, police community support officers from the safer neighbourhood teams (SNT), mounted officers and partners from Barnsley Council, Berneslai Homes, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue and TV Licensing, all combined resources to tackle issues as part of the crackdown and to provide reassurance and fire safety checks to the local community in Hoyland and Wombwell.

Officers involved in the action conducted warrants for non-payment of fines and arrested a man and a woman.

Police issued one Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) for possession of cannabis and two FPNs for obstruction.
