Charity to be given funds
A CHARITY for people with arthritis is to be presented with a cheque for £1000 in Mexborough on Saturday.
The money was raised by the Doncaster branch of the Campaign for Real Ale at a sponsored walk in Doncaster in May.
The cheque will be handed over to Arthritis Care at Mexborough’s Imperial Club, which is the branch nominated charity for this year.
Money will fund awareness raising events across Doncaster, the first of which is a ‘Challenging Pain’ course for people who suffer from the condition. The free course will be run at the South Yorkshire Centre for Independent Living, Doncaster, on September 20 and 27.
Sheffield’s White Rose Brewery will also be presented with an award for their “Ballymoss” beer, which was voted best golden beer at the Doncaster Beer Festival.
