Changes to bus service

SHOPPERS are being catered for following a review of services in the Doncaster area by leading bus operator Stagecoach Yorkshire.

The number 42 Doncaster to Scawsby route will see services retimed throughout the day to improve punctuality and reliability, and journeys leaving Doncaster between 09.02 and 15.02 on Mondays to Saturdays will serve the Morrisons superstore on York Road.

In another improvement, the frequency of journeys on the 64A Doncaster to Arksey service will be increased from hourly to every 30 minutes during off-peak periods Monday to Friday and throughout the day on Saturdays.

A number of new journeys will be introduced at peak times on Monday to Friday on service 225 linking Doncaster, Sprotborough and Mexborough and there are timing changes to services 224 and 225 throughout the day to improve punctuality and reliability.

It follows a review of Stagecoach's South Yorkshire network which took into account comments and observations from the travelling public.

Paul Lynch, Stagecoach Yorkshire's managing director, said: "We try and use these reviews to fine tune services in line with the feedback we receive on a continuing basis from our customers. Our overall aim is to achieve the very best performance we can in terms of punctuality, reliability and convenience for everyone who travels with us."

The changes were introduced on Saturday, January 24. For more information visit www.stagecoachbus.com/yorkshire
